Welcome to Smallroom Productions, these videos will generally be produced in our smallroom.
Hayling Island Havant Road Christmas lights 2019
The house on Havant Road Hayling Island has always put on a large display of lights for the festive period, normally there are just lots of static display pieces but this year they have gone for a fully computerised using RGB pixel LED's and all set to music, sadly because the speakers are under the eves it makes it hard to hear the music when the traffic is going by. I suspect this lot was imported as kits from the US like Light-O-Rama or similar, all run using computer software like Show Time Designer. If you think you know then comment below.

Solar powered Flame lamp

This is a quick video of how to convert a mains powered flame lamp into a solar powered version, you do need to make sure the solar powered lantern runs from a 3.7v lithium battery in the first place but otherwise its quite simple.

December 2016 road run on Victoria
Просмотров 4767 лет назад
Here is a short video I knocked up of our road run on Sewards of Petersfield Marshall traction engine "Victoria", some poetic license is required on a few of the edits as I didnt always have all the shots I wanted to story board it correctly also lack of a steady cam on the gopro means its a bit shakey but ignoring that I think its a nice record of our trip out.
DYNO96

DYNO 96 (Drive Your Nuts Off) were events held on Cleethorpes beach in the UK in the 1990's by the NBR National Buggy Register, sadly the NBR folded but there are still many VW Beach buggy enthusiasts in the UK today. This video was made for the NBR 20yrs ago, so this summer will be the 20 year anniversary of this event. I wonder how many of the buggies are still about. For info I did not film ...

Bit of Xmas fun with one of my presents, took about a day to build and getting it to work half reasonably as its quite a fussy bit of kit to make run and keep running, but great fun.

This was at the Sandown Park model show, awesome bit of kit, sadly by the time I got the camera out it had jumped a tooth on the timing belt and wasn't running right on the day, heres a link to it being bench run ruclips.net/video/SGZjxvrnVLk/видео.html
Hayling Snow Circa 1988
Просмотров 13 тыс.13 лет назад
Having heard that it snowed on Hayling I made a mad dash down to Hayling to see what this seaside resort looked like covered in snow. There is a interesting walk up Creek Road at the east end of the Island that shows the place before all the Flats were built.
It was still much the same as I remember it from the 1970's. Completely changed now though.
For how many soldiers can you cook in this stove.
I was part of the pyro team on this i pushed the button that set of the house. The organisers asked us to burn it.
Wonder what they will blow up this weekend ;-)
Good evening. Japan is ten o'clock at night. Recently, I look at the metal tank. Because there is no shop selling such a large radio convoy in Japan, I want to buy such a large radio
Is this the same Model that I have in this video? ruclips.net/video/lSZpr9QBH9Q/видео.html Must say it's nice to see what was inside. At least this one won't blow its turret off.
Does it run on petrol
Any ideas when this came out of service because I found one recently in the bin just outside the reme wksp
I've got hundreds of Hayling islanders, whilst flicking through yesterday I came across January 1987 which had the article and photos. Superb video, brings back so many memories. There are loads my mates on the video and of course the Double One burger being served by Ian Hamilton- You can almost taste this video! :). Have you seen the 'Hayling Island Then and Now' Nostalgia fb group?
December 18th 1986
I wasnt sure if it was 86 or 87, must admit I thought it was more likely 87 as I dont think we'd moved down here by 86, but could be wrong.
Many's the time, many's the time... British Army in the 80's & 90's me...
Как всегда немцы намудрили!
Ahhh remember the cutter pub now!! but what was the nightclub called in the building next door ???
It was called Blazes, then it became Bennetts around this time.
I remember it as Dixies and the Shore club
@@SmallroomProductions Yes you're right, but but it was the Cutter that became first Millers when JM Inns took it over, then Dixies (Shores was the club at the seafront side, it was split into two). The larger building to the left as you look from Southwood Road was Blazes nightclub. Then that became Bennett's.
Hi, in the sixties it was known as the Beach Club! Wonder why!? It was quite cool tho! Cheers
Aspen 4 good for this stove.
Yes I can imagine it would be but Aspen is really expensive and the little stove does eat their way through fuel I find. I'll stick to petrol, well while you can still buy it LOL May be I should convert it to electric with a pile of 18650 batteries LOL
Got one I'm happy
Shared to the Hayling Island Then and Now fb group :)
My guess is January 1987. I can`t remember any snow in Portsmouth 1988. Great footage though.
I remember that! :-)
Born and bred on that island its changed so much and not for the better it's all built on completely ruined

@@PhoneVidoes nice I have 2 at home I don't have use for them am from Belize Central America
Diesel ????
The description indicates Petrol
@R2 D2 I have one of these and they dont run very well on kerosine and seem to be quite smokey, they will run but are harder to start and tend not to be anywhere near as good as petrol.
@R2 D2 On petrol they really do work very well, clean burning as well as you can see in that video, although this one does still splutter yellow flames when up to temp and I suspect thats because its using old petrol, fresh stuff burns with a very clean blue flame. Remember you are dealing with pressurised petrol vapour though, I've had mine flame out before now and cover the whole thing in hot liquid petrol which ends up looking quite scary, not something you would want to use indoors !!!!
We always used petrol.
Lovely engine. What coal are you using and Dis you build her yourself?
Не понимаю странную тягу европейцев воспроизводить военную технику фашистской германии, т. е. тех, кто фактически поставил их на колени... Самим не противно? Или преславутая толерантность лишает людей уважения к собственной истории...
cool tanks are cool tanks.... I also have a tiger :)
Armer Mensch
The working man's holiday paradise, murdered by Hayling Island's moneycentric local authority when they ruined the best beach on this stretch of the South Coast for the benefit of the Snotty Yachties around the Point. All the little seaside businesses depended on high-tide beach evacuees and were slowly strangled, then bulldozed to create Universal Credit hutches. You can see tumbleweeds rolling down it now - never be another like it. I doubt the L.A. has the collective wit to wonder how much money and work over time was brought in to the Island by the old Creek Road/Sandy Point.
Forth generation video game consols did a lot of the damage to the seawide arcades, along with cheap holidays abroad from the 80's onwards. Local Authority had little influence on that apart from allowing change of use of buildings as they slowly shut one by one and became abandoned. I saw it first hand over a 10 year period when less of my friends were holidaying there and now going abroad with their mum and dad. The working man had more disposable income from the mid 80's and bought games consols for their kids and took them abroad for holidays. thus many UK seaside destinations fell by the way side, not just Hayling.
Hay was once a beautiful place now it's a dump built up and run down flats everywhere absolute shame
Awesome bit of kit!!!
Don't sell it .it's a collector's item a classic
do you pre heat underneath as well ? i thought that was just for the Unmodified cooker
Yes, you add some fuel (petrol) to the cup under the burner and light that, the instructions state you fill the cup under the burner just by turning the burner on before lighting, in practice it ends up spraying fuel all over the place, so I fill it with a small syringe first, then light the cup as demonstrated. The burner works really well once warmed up, I made the video originally as I was thinking of selling it via e-bay and thought it would be good for folks to see it working.
Awesome video. Need to get a meet like this up and running , Had no facebook or mobile phones and still put some of the best vw shows on,
Really?
Awesome video. Shame things like this dont happen anymore :(
Hope you don't mind, I loved your walk through snowy 1988 Creek road. That I shared the film on the Hayling Island F.B.site and as you can see by the sudden rise in the viewing count. There's a lot of interest. Happy Christmas.
I'm only 5 years late in replying but no probs. Glad I got it rescued off my old betamax tapes
Wow I used to holiday there a lot in the 70s and 80s and always wondered what it would look like with snow, great video. Creek Road is unrecognisable now but I remember it exactly as in your video.
hello supernatural, exeptionel model for the details and the caterpillars bravo for the realism of the movments but which is its weight ? structure steel or aluminium ? which is this engin how does it turn, 1 differential with brake or double differential still bravo

cedric is a god of electric motor
You Book should be named "Der Tiger", "Das Tiger" is incorrect...
I saw this unit at Bendigo Vic the chap originally built a V8 only to be told it should have been a V12 so he went and built a V12 for it from scratch
On Hayling they drive at that speed all year round
Jake Holmes it's because harping island is turning into a retirement place, so alt of elderly people drive, like it's so annoying
Doesn't quite look like that now, does it? And I'm not talking about the snow.
No it's such a shame was a beautiful place once now its run down
No it's such a shame was a beautiful place once now its run down
Yep, I was disappointed as well, especially after I tested it for 31 hours before the show and it ran well. That night I got it running again and it ran until the next evening when it really blew its guts. I think that the time running on 6 cylinders cracked the crankshaft. You can follow the saga on the website: www.thewimmeratiger.com Thanks for posting the video. Gerard Dean, Melbourne, Australia
Sorry Gerard I hadn't realised your comment was held as spam due to the link you included to your site, hope its all up and running again as it really was an awesome bit of kit.
i remember this road. used to play in the arcades along here. sadly now all gone...thanks so much for the video, brings back my childhood
Same with me , yes, sadly all gone but the memories will stay with us to the end .
remember that! i was 16 then...sure i recognise some people but im rubbish with names! best place ever...shame i moved away when i was 17 :-(
Robin Walton?
Do you recognise Robin in this video ?
Robin Walton?
I get people stepping out infront of my bicycle all the time, people just have a problem looking where they are going. ITS A ROAD! If I was a car there'd be many dead people in Britain.
@LEEWAY63 Hello stranger LOL
hey dude, could see your house from there :)
Just got my Zero DS with one of his motors in it. The guy should have a knighthood. I can't believe what he's accomplished. Most amazing thing I've ever experienced. The size of a 500 watt motor it puts out 17 000 watts.
awesome.
my brother went to school with cedric, he said he is still the same as he was at sunny bank school, strange and eccentric.
Great Clip!!
hahahaha, go cedric.... he's the man. how many vehicles at the TTXGP did he provide motors for?
